Ángela Peralta  1845–1883 Chamber singer of the Empire 

Ángela Peralta , 19th century Mexico.  Called the “Mexican Nightingale” in Europe, she sang until the age of 20 in major European opera houses to acclaim.  Although primarily known for her vocals, she was a musician as well as an accomplished pianist and harp player.

When Ángela Peralta  was 15 years old.

15 she made her operatic debut as Leonora in Giuseppe Verdi’s Il trovatore at the Teatro Nacional in Mexico City

She came from a wealthy and good family where there was no shortage of money.

 That’s why his parents did not let him fall short in his music education and sent him to the top music school in the world. 

At that time his parents sent him to Italy to receive a music school education. 

Ángela Peralta Debut 

On 13 May 1862, she made her debut at La Scala in Milan with an acclaimed performance of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor.

Ángela Peralta sang Bellini’s La Sonambula in front of King Victor Emmanuel II of Italy at the Teatro Regio in Turin, where he received 32 curtain calls.  Between 1863 and 1864, she sang at the opera houses of Rome, Florence, Bologna, Genoa, Naples, Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Saint Petersburg, Alexandria, and Cairo. 

After that Ángela Peralta did not look back and started singing in every place of the world.

In 1865, Ángela Peralta was called to sing in her country.  Because his popularity had become very high, every country used to invite him to sing in their country.

1866 Ángela sang before Maximilian I of Mexico and Charlotte of Belgium and was named “Chamber singer of the Empire”

Ángela Peralta  Marriage life 

She moved to New York in 1866, marrying her cousin Eugenio Castera.  And took a break from music for a while. 

Her husband was mentally ill, due to which there was unhappiness in her married life.
